You have the box in front of you and you want to be upside down in the next ten minutes. Good news: this is one of the shortest assembly guides you will ever read. If you prefer to watch, the video below shows every step.

How long does it take to assemble the FeetUp Trainer?
About five minutes. One customer put it this way: "It took literally 10 minutes to assemble (8 screws)." If you are counting, that includes unpacking and admiring the wood.
How do I put the FeetUp Trainer together, step by step?
- Unpack and lay out. Place the two frame halves on a soft surface (the packaging works) so you do not scratch the finish. Find the hardware bag and the key.
- Match the halves. Line up the connecting bars with the pre-drilled holes as shown in the manual and the video.
- Start every screw by hand. Thread each screw two or three turns before tightening any of them. This lets the frame find its own alignment.
- Tighten evenly. Snug one screw, then the one diagonally opposite, then the next pair. Finish with a final quarter turn on each. Firm is enough; the wood does not need to be crushed.
- Fit the cushion. Upgraded model: press the cushion onto the top rails until the Easy-Click connectors click (no screws, no holes). The Original: fix the cushion as shown in the manual.
- Check it is flat. Stand the Trainer on a hard floor and press on each corner. If it rocks, loosen the screws a quarter turn, press the frame flat and retighten.
Which tools do I need?
None beyond the key in the hardware kit. Do not use a power driver: it is easy to strip the threads in hardwood.
Where should I put the FeetUp Trainer in my home?
Any flat, non-slip surface works. For your first weeks, put the back of the frame against a wall so your heels meet the wall if you overshoot. The footprint is 64 × 40 cm, about the size of a bedside table, so it lives happily in the corner of a bedroom or next to the sofa, where you will actually use it. Many owners tell us the location matters more than the routine: "I tend to do it whenever I walk by it now."
What should I check before my first inversion?
- Every screw is tight and the frame does not rock.
- The cushion is seated fully and the opening for your head is centred.
- The rubber feet are clean so the anti-slip pads can grip.
- You have read the safety page of the manual, especially the list of conditions that need a doctor's approval first (pregnancy, high blood pressure, glaucoma and other eye conditions).
Then start with your feet on the floor. Our FeetUp 101 video with founder Kilian Trenkle shows the gentlest way in, and the shoulder position guide solves the one thing most people get wrong on day one.
